A few things have happened of late:

1) I left for a month-long holiday.
2) Shortly before leaving, I added a full set of Jounin-level commands (level 152 and a few slightly above that level).
3) As soon as I left, we had a huge amount of crashes.
4) There have been a greater-than-normal amount of accusations of cheating.
5) Suddenly narutomud.mudmagic.com doesn't work and only wonmud.com works.

So here we go, with the explanations.

Whilst I had thoroughly tested the commands, with help from other imms and some players, we didn't test everything. Importantly, well, there were some things that will happen matter-of-factly while playing that would cause crashes.

Even worse, the fix for this is not simple. The fix is something I have never done before. I have guessed at least 3-4 hours to fix, which would mean having a weekend to do it. And of course I was on a month-long holiday so had no chance to have that kind of time. It might take longer than that. I don't know because I have never done it before. In theory, all goes perfectly, that is how long it will take to do. But since this is a new thing, I can't guarantee how long it will take or even if it is possible at all. If it isn't possible, I will have to disable the command or at least part of the command, or change how it works.

The crashes are not just your ordinarily 5 second crashes that the startup script fixes up. These are hangs. They don't actually crash the MUD at all, just send it into an infinite loop, taking up all of the processing power and slowing it down to nothing. The server then closes it down after about 10 minutes, disabling the startup script. We then have to do a manual restart. I gave Reki and Raichek access to our servers and taught Raichek how to do a manual restart, but he isn't always available and sometimes it was a day or more before he found out about it and did a restart. There were as many as 15 or 20 times when he had to do that. As far as I can tell, they were all as a result of the new commands.

A few people have suggested that some people might be deliberately doing this. If this is true, then I am pissed off! Just the same, as I refuse to say how to do it (for fear of the bugs being abused), it is quite possible that people have done it by accident. I can't imagine someone deliberately doing a hang crash, as then it is down for an unknown period of time. How does that help anyone? People may well be abusing regular crash bugs, but I can't see any benefit to anyone abusing a hang crash, so I find it hard to believe that anyone would do it on purpose - unless they want to destroy the game of course. But if someone is level 152 I would think that they probably like the game.

There have been a wide range of accusations of cheating. They may well have substance. But I can't know if they are real or not until I have got rid of the bugs. Furthermore, getting rid of the bugs is more important. I wonder if a lot of the accusations are more frustration at the crashes than serious accusations.

Worst case, I guess that if I can't fix this stuff, I may have to disable the Jounin-level skills for a while, the whole lot, rather than just the 1 or 2 that are bugged, just to be fair. I don't really want to do that, as that stuff took ages to get to work, but yeah if I need to then I will.

Anyway I will have a serious go tomorrow and with any luck it will all be fixed tomorrow, or at least fixed a little.

Oh and as for the name change, that was our host again. Didn't even ask, or even bother to tell me, that the redirect wasn't working any more. I am seriously considering changing hosts when our contract runs out in February.

Well the kuroari bug seemed to be gone today and i had no problems with one of the puppets dying untile i used it on Raicheks mob Hanzou. He Started to Repop in the same room about 100+ times untile the mud laged out. I had used the the skill if i can recall about 30+ times before i used it on hanzou with no problem. No signs of lag or anything. Im not sure if it was the skill killing him or the actual mob Repoping alot. Could it have something to do with his random drop armor idk.
I did have Zombies in the room but i didnt use bakuhatsu or any other skills associated with zombies. but i did find a bug with zombies that i cant even beleive i overlooked i kinda feel stupid for not seeing this. It turns out when it shows the message of a zombie geting destroyed it doesnt actualy destroy it..im not sure if i posted this one or not i just got back from my own vacation a day or so ago. Im kinda pist at myself for crashing it even tho it was an accident, i was looking forward to reaching level 201 today. I Think ill just sit in the hospital giving buffs for a while untile all the bugs iv recently found are fixed. ill have to postpone geting to level 201 untile they are.
