Just to make some corrections to why we were down:
First off, yes, we did change IPs. We were previously hosted on an address that resolves to giggle.mudmagic.com (a physical computer) while they changed us to be physically hosted on an address that resolves to newjitterbug.mudmagic.com .
Now, first of all, the hosts, when they went to start up the MUD, it seems ran the wrong script to boot it up. I don't know what they did, but it kept trying to boot up something that didn't exist. As such, put simply, they didn't boot the MUD back up when they moved us over. They tried to, but stuffed it up a bit. This is no big deal though as I should be able to do it myself and in many ways I was asking a bit much to expect them to do it (although they did offer, which was nice of them).
Now, note above I said "newjitterbug". This is important, as they also had another computer called "jitterbug".
Now, from work I tried to boot it up by going to giggle.mudmagic.com and it then sent me directly to jitterbug.mudmagic.com . I then went to type in my username and password and it of course didn't work, because it was jitterbug, not newjitterbug, and we don't have an account with jitterbug.
The hosts eventually e-mailed me back (presumably after they woke up - note the different time zones) and sent me a direct link, from which I could boot it all up happily, and see why the MUD was down. I didn't realise that the issue was jitterbug vs newjitterbug though, or that their redirect was sending to the wrong place (also, the IP they listed is wrong as it has a 42 at the end instead of a 242).
Tiny little errors, compounded by us being on different sides of the world, but all sorted out now.
MudMagic have been good hosts for us for the 18 months or so that we have used them, and gone above and beyond what they would be expected to do. I do apologise for getting upset with them over this, and can understand why and how they made the mistakes that they did with this.
